We always love working as members of the team for Isobel Lamplough, Oxford based wedding planner so it was a big YES when she asked us to design and create the flowers for Helen and Brendon's wedding at the beautiful National Trust property, Chastleton House where the Brendon's late grandmother was the last private owner.

Chastleton House is a rare gem of a Jacobean country house, built between 1607 and 1612 by a prosperous wool merchant as an impressive statement of wealth and power.
Owned by the same increasingly impoverished family until 1991, the house remained essentially unchanged for nearly 400 years as the interiors and contents gradually succumbed to the ravages of time. With virtually no intrusion from the 21st century, Chastleton exudes an informal and timeless atmosphere in a gloriously unspoilt setting.

Helen carried a natural and wispy bridal bouquet containing lily of the valley, edelweiss, stephanotis and jasmine which complimented her gorgeous vintage wedding dress and reflected the long forgotten and overgrown past of this beautiful setting. The bridesmaids wore midnight blue and we brought some colour into their posies using deep purple hydrangea and clematis along with the lily of the valley and edelweiss.

The groom, Brendan wore an Edwardian style boutonnière cone with lily of the valley and stephanotis.

The wedding ceremony took place in the adjoining Church of St Mary the Virgin and the guests were greeted with this welcoming wreath of blue, purple and green hydrangea flowers on the gate.

The Bride and Groom entered the church through our spectacular, wild country arch created with clematis, herbs, blackberries, English oak foliage and 5 different varieties of hydrangeas.

The wedding reception was held in a marque in the gardens of Chastleton House and we brought the gardens into the marquee with flowers and trees creating an English summer garden party style for this very English country wedding.
