Fabulous Flowers is looking for an experienced florist to take full responsibility for managing our Abingdon shop.

We have been creating beautiful flowers in Oxfordshire for more than 20 years, working with everyone from our wonderful everyday shop customers to leading venues, businesses and private clients. We care enormously about flowers, service and the experience we give every customer, and we are looking for somebody who loves flowers as much as we do.

This is a very hands-on management role. Our managers are not sitting behind a desk — you will be doing floristry, selling, talking to customers, answering the telephone and emails, leading the team and making sure the shop is running brilliantly.

We are looking for somebody who takes real ownership. Someone who notices what needs doing and gets it done, who is comfortable making decisions without constantly needing direction, and who takes genuine pride in the shop, the team and the Fabulous Flowers name.

The role will include:

• Managing the day-to-day running of the Abingdon shop and leading the shop team.
• Creating beautiful, commercially strong floristry to a high standard.
• Delivering exceptional customer service face-to-face, by telephone and by email.
• Building relationships with regular customers and understanding what they want.
• Driving sales and confidently helping customers choose the right flowers for their occasion and budget.
• Managing orders, stock, flower quality and shop presentation.
• Communicating clearly with our studio and wider team.
• Organising the working day, delegating effectively and ensuring jobs are followed through.
• Making sensible day-to-day decisions and solving problems as they arise.
• Maintaining the high standards of presentation, service and professionalism that our customers expect.

You will need to be an experienced florist with management experience, excellent communication and customer-service skills, strong sales ability and the confidence to lead a small team. You should be organised, positive, commercially aware and genuinely motivated by doing a good job.

Saturday working is essential, with a day off during the week.

This is not a trainee floristry position. Applicants without the required floristry and management experience will not be considered.

Salary: Competitive and dependent on experience.
